Back in February of 2009, I designed this Wordpress theme for conservative-American websites, and decided to give it away for free. With over 5,100 downloads since then, I am again making it available for download. Be sure to check out the demo link below.

IF YOU DOWNLOAD, please leave a comment with your thoughts below; I’d really appreciate it.

Stunning theme! I love the colors. This is a very professionally-designed theme- thanks for sharing with us!

As a webmaster , I’m extremely glad to see that another individual brought up this topic.

Many people out there don’t understand what all is involved in our field, and I think also we are all too often not appreciated enough
or taken for granted. Never the less I’m immensely glad to see that you may feel the same way I do , thanks so much for your blog!

    • Jeremy Buff says:

I’m thankful for your appreciation! I agree, most people do not understand what it takes to create a website- whether it be a template or a whole web presence. Even clients who have worked with web designers for many years tend to severely devalue our work in their minds. Anyway, best of luck to you in 2010!

Hello, Mr. Jeremy Buff. I was downloaded your theme for my project blog. At first time, I didn’t really care who had made the theme. I had ever been vacuum with my blog activity. But, now, i really appreciate with your theme and I can modify it by myself. It’s wonderful!! (Of course without deleting your name, hehe). Please visit your “former theme”, happily if you send me a comment (via email/blog). Merci.

  5. casandra says:

thank you for this. It’s quite lovely and just what we needed

  6. Tammy says:

I don’t usually reply to posts but I will in this case, great design…I will add a backlink and bookmark your site. Keep up the good work!

    I’m Out! :)

  7. Anthony says:

This is an awesome template and exactly what I’m looking for. Do you know if it has been converted for Blogger yet? I found one that had, but it was in Spanish and the instructions on how to edit the javascript were gone, so it doesn’t really help.

    Again, AWESOME design on this!!

    • Jeremy Buff says:

Thanks for the compliments, Anthony! The only conversion to Blogger that I know of is the spanish one. Personally, I do not mess with Blogger. However, within the next couple of months, I will be releasing the 2.0 version of this theme. I will attempt to convert it to Blogger- or get a friend that knows how to do so.

I’ll keep you updated, my friend! What exactly are you looking to modify within the javascript?

  8. Sina says:

I needed this theme for making my history project into a blog to impress my teacher. :)
Sadly, I can’t think of anymore uses for this theme outside of history class.

  9. Aaron says:

I downloaded this theme as one for consideration on my own blog at MilitantLibertarian.org, but it didn’t quite fit the layout I wanted. Now, however, I am re-building a friend’s radio show blog at FreeWestRadio.com and this is PERFECT!

    You rock, dude. Thanks!

    • Jeremy Buff says:

Thank you for the compliments Aaron! I really appreciate it. I am keeping a list of websites using this theme and will post them on this article once I release the second version of this theme. If you’d like, I could include the Free West Radio website. I’m looking to do anything to help people with SEO.

Thanks again for the kind complements! Take care my friend.

      • Aaron says:

Awesome and I will leave the link-backs in the footer. Most of my work will be changing out the header graphics (more like adding in changes, really). I’m having trouble installing the theme. WordPress says the stylesheets are missing. Weird. I’m giving ti another upload right now to see if there was interference.

        • Jeremy Buff says:

Stylesheets missing? Very odd! Is there file “style.css” in the directory? If it’s missing, you’d get that error. If it’s there, then you should not get that error at all..

          • Aaron says:

Well, the second and third tries gave a bunch of file extraction errors. I re-downloaded the archive to be sure that wasn’t it. It’s not even letting me unzip them on my desktop. Weird, since I have a successful install on this same server (and domain, even) and was just installing it on a test sub-domain (http://testitall.freewestradio.com).

I’m going to move the successful install folder in the root domain to the test sub and see how that works. I installed it successfully jsut a couple of weeks ago when we were going over new designs. Really odd. I’ll let you know if the move works. It could be the new WordPress update. That messed with a bunch of my plugins.

          • Aaron says:

Alright, the problems have to be with the new WP update. For kicks, I tried to install two other themes that are about a year old and only one of them worked OK. So there you go. Here’s the current error, now that I installed directly via FTP:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/freewes1/public_html/testitall/wp-content/themes/conservativeamerican/
            ConservativeAmericanWP/functions.php on line 61

Not sure what changes they made, but the original FWR blog hasn’t been upgraded and now I know not to upgrade any of my blogs. I hate it when WP does this. At any rate, it still works on WP 2.8.1, so I can still make use of it as intended, I just can’t test it on the sub-domain. :)

Thanks for the help! I know you’ve said you’re going to upgrade the theme anyway, so maybe this will help with that.

  10. Jeremy Buff says:

Ah, I see. Deleting the blank line there may fix it. I will look into it. I actually have the demo on the very latest version of Wordpress, so it seems as though the update breaks the theme on *some servers.* I know that servers without PHP 5 enabled do have a bit of an issue with the latest version of Wordpress, and thus this theme as well. That may be the issue. In any event, I will ensure the next version of the theme is fully compatible with older versions of PHP in combination with the latest Wordpress versions (and whatever prerelease version is currently out).

Thank you so much for the report! I really appreciate it. Right now, I am flooded with web design work, so I am hoping to get the new version out by July 4th, at the latest. I am hoping for a April/May launch, though. Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback, Aaron!

  11. tim giles says:

Thanks Jeremy! Great looking… I had a few errors on the upload, not sure what the deal was but the header doesn’t show up? Also, on other I quickie, I can’t seem to find where the Custom Filed is to attach my pics to the front page rotation…? Hmm, not sure if the latest wp update changed the admin layout or I’m blind… Anyways, my friend is running for MT State Rep and thought this layout was perfect thanks again. -T

    • Jeremy Buff says:

Hey Tim! What is the URL of the website where the header does not show up?

As far as the custom field, take a look at this image. In the “Custom Fields” box, you’ll want to enter the world image (exactly like that, no capital i) under the Name column, and the URL under the Value column. Once you’ve done that, simply click the “Add Custom Field” button.

In an earlier comment, Aaron reported that there may be an issue with the latest version of Wordpress and this theme. I have not had the time to check into it, however. Aaron did not report an issue with the header, so please describe that to me as best you can.

Also, I noticed you said a few errors. What were the others? I want to make sure that we get everything squared away for your friend who is running for MT State Rep (good for him!).

I’ll keep an eye out for your reply. Thank you for the compliments!
