Responsive Design

Lately, there has been much hubbub about responsive design. It seems like every day, a new article comes to light about responsiveness, and what it entails. However, I have found that many designers do not understand what this trend is, why it is bubbling to the forefront, or where to begin.

Simply put: a responsive design conforms to the visitor's device. Let's take a step back for a moment. The notion of responsive design really got to a start with LukeW's article, "Mobile First." In this article, Luke argues that websites and web apps should be designed from the mobile point of view first.

My Journey at Full Sail University

Back in early 2009, I discovered a wonderful school in Orlando, Florida. The school was Full Sail University, and it seemed like the absolute perfect school to learn more about web design and development.

At that time, I had taught myself HTML and CSS, and had learned Wordpress from playing around with various themes. However, I yearned to learn more. I realized that it was impossible to teach myself everything I needed to know. Thus, my Full Sail Journey began.

What Web Developers Can Learn From Walt Disney

As a young entrepreneur in the web design and development industry, I believe that inspiration is crucial to success. As a boy growing up, I was lucky enough to have parents that believed in family vacations, and not only that, but were able to take my sister and I on multiple vacations a year.

One particular time of the year was especially— dare I say— magical. The time was Thanksgiving of each year. During that holiday, my family took a vacation to Walt Disney World. At the time, I lived in Asheville, North Carolina; a trip that took roughly 11 hours once stops were factored in.
